May 2023 Deadlines:

• • UCARE FOUNDATION - 2023 COMMUNITY HEALTH GRANTS

    • Deadline May 3, 2023. This program serves to increase access to shared-use special purpose equipment/instruments for fundamental and applied research for use in the food and agricultural sciences programs at institutions of higher education. 

  • WILLIAM T. GRANT FOUNDATION: RESEARCH TO REDUCE INEQUALITY 

    • LOI Deadline May 3, 2023. The William T. Grant Foundation invites applications for its Research Grants on Reducing Inequality program, which supports research studies that aim to build, test, or increase understanding of programs, policies, or practices to reduce inequality in the academic, social, behavioral, or economic outcomes of young people ages 5 to 25 in the United States, along dimensions of race, ethnicity, economic standing, language minority status, or immigrant origins. 

  • HEALTHY TRANSITIONS: IMPROVING LIFE TRAJECTORIES FOR YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULTS WITH SERIOUS MENTAL DISORDERS PROGRAM (SAMHSA):

    • Deadline May 8, 2023. The purpose of this program is to improve and expand access to developmentally, culturally, and linguistically appropriate services and supports for transition-aged youth and young adults (ages 16-25) who either have, or are at risk for developing, serious mental health conditions. Award recipients will be expected to identify and provide appropriate behavioral health interventions to transition-aged youth and young adults who are at risk for a serious emotional disturbance or serious mental illness. IHEs are eligible to apply but must be in broader partnerships. 

  • SNOW WATER SUPPLY FORECASTING PROGRAM DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR (INTERIOR) , BUREAU OF RECLAMATION 

    • Deadline May 12, 2023. Notice seeking applications to improve the skill of water supply forecasts via enhancing snow monitoring through the deployment of emerging technologies to complement existing monitoring techniques and networks. Approximately $11.75 million is available to fund 12 to 20 awards.

  • HIGHER EDUCATION MULTICULTURAL SCHOLARS PROGRAM NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF FOOD AND AGRICULTURE (NIFA), UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE (USDA) 

    • Deadline May 15, 2023. Notice seeking applications to provide scholarships to support recruiting, engaging, retaining, mentoring, and training committed multicultural scholars, resulting in either baccalaureate degrees within the food and agricultural science disciplines or Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.) degrees.  Approximately $1.25 million is available to fund five awards.

  • ENHANCING PARTNERSHIPS TO ADDRESS BIRTH DEFECTS, INFANT DISORDERS AND RELATED CONDITIONS, AND THE HEALTH OF PREGNANT AND POSTPARTUM PEOPLE CENTERS FOR DISEASE CONTROL AND PREVENTION (CDC), DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES (HHS) , NATIONAL CENTER ON BIRTH DEFECTS AND DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES (NCBDDD) 

    • Deadline May 15, 2023. Notice seeking applications to support partnerships to improve the health of pregnant and postpartum people and their infants and those living with birth defects, infant disorders and related conditions across the lifespan.  Approximately $15 million is available to fund 20 awards. 

  • Minnesota State Arts Board, Arts Education Grants 

Deadline May 19, 2023.  Project grants to help Minnesotans develop personal relationships with an art form(s) by supporting learning experiences for indivduals of all ages and abilities.

• • UNDERSTANDING CHRONIC CONDITIONS UNDERSTUDIED AMONG WOMEN (R01) (NIH):

    • LOIs due May 19, 2023 & May 20, 2024.This program aims to support research applications on chronic conditions understudied among women and/or that disproportionately affect populations of women who are understudied, underrepresented, and underreported in biomedical research. 

  • UNDERGRADUATE INTERNATIONAL STUDIES AND FOREIGN LANGUAGE (ED) Deadline May 22, 2023. The Undergraduate International Studies and Foreign Language program provides grants for planning, developing, and carrying out projects to strengthen and improve undergraduate instruction in international studies and foreign languages in the United States. 

• • OVC FY 2023 TRANSFORMING AMERICA'S RESPONSE TO ELDER ABUSE: ENHANCED MULTIDISCIPLINARY TEAMS (E-MDTS) FOR OLDER VICTIMS OF ABUSE AND FINANCIAL EXPLOITATION AND T AND TA DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE (JUSTICE) , OFFICE FOR VICTIMS OF CRIME (OVC) NOTICE Deadline May 24, 2023. Seeking applications to support the development or enhancement of multidisciplinary teams to better identify and respond to cases of abuse of older adults and more comprehensively serve and support older victims of financial exploitation and other forms of elder abuse. The program will also support a National Elder Abuse Training and Technical Assistance Center. Applications are due May 24, 2023.

• • USGS EARTHQUAKE HAZARDS PROGRAM EXTERNAL RESEARCH SUPPORT ANNOUNCEMENT FOR FISCAL YEAR 2024 DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR (INTERIOR) Deadline May 24, 2023. Notice seeking applications to support research in earthquake hazards, the physics of earthquakes, earthquake occurrence, and earthquake safety policy and address the Department of Interior’s Secretarial priorities.  Approximately $4 million is available to fund 75 awards,

• • DIGITAL PROJECTS FOR THE PUBLIC (NEH) 

  Deadline June 14, 2023.This program supports projects that interpret and analyze humanities content in primarily digital platforms and formats, such as websites, mobile applications and tours, interactive touch screens and kiosks, games, and virtual environments. 

• Minnesota State Arts Board, Cultural Expression Grant
• Deadline June 16, 2023. Project grants to support activities that express, celebrate, explore, or share culture through the arts. Each program is open to both individuals and organizations.
• SCIENCE FOUNDATIONS FOR ENERGY EARTHSHOTS (DOE) 

Deadline June 21, 2023. The Energy Earthshots drive integrated program development and execution across the Department of Energy’s basic science and energy technology offices. They are part of an all-hands-on-deck approach to provide science and technology innovations that address the tough technological challenges required to achieve our climate and economic competitiveness goals. The Energy Earthshots will accelerate breakthroughs towards more abundant, affordable, and reliable clean energy solutions. This FOA will support small teams to build the scientific foundations for the Energy Earthshot goals.
