Where to present and publish

Minnesota State University, Mankato students have a wide variety of opportunities to present and publish their work. See the tabs on the right for common presentation and publishing opportunities such as the Undergraduate Research Symposium, the National Conference on Undergraduate Research, and the Journal of Undergraduate Research.

PRINTING POSTERS

Posters can be printed through the University Copy Shops. A link to the online printing order form can be found below. Upload your print-ready file to print in the Wiecking Copy Shop, choose from variety of printing and finishing options, then indicate order pickup or delivery to your campus office. As of Spring 2024, the typical cost of a 36 in. (H) x 48 in. (W) color poster is $25. The URC does not cover these printing costs.

SUBMIT YOUR COPY SHOP ORDER

It is important to consider the sizing and orientation of your poster. Some conferences and symposiums might have specific requirements for poster sizing - be sure to verify this before you begin! In some instances, having the wrong poster size may be grounds for disqualification.

Presenting at the Undergraduate Research Symposium

For students presenting posters at the Undergraduate Research Symposium (URS), most posters are 36 in. (H) x 48 in. (W), however, this size is not required. Other sizes and orientations are allowed as long as they will fit within this same area. You may choose whether your poster will have a horizontal or vertical orientation. Consider which orientation will best showcase your poster’s content. All URC sample templates are sized for this area requirement.

Presenting at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research

For students presenting posters at the 2024 National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR), posters should be no more than 48 in. (H) x 48 in. (W). Posters must fit within this area. All URC sample templates are sized within this area requirement. We recommend that posters are 36 in. (H) x 48 in. (W) for ease of transport. Specific information on required formats for NCUR can be found on the NCUR 2025 website.
