Professor Lopez

Dr. Jose Javier Lopez is a distinguished faculty scholar and professor at the College of Humanities and Social Sciences who teaches in the Department of Geography at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Professor Lopez explains some of his past research and the current research he is doing in collaboration with Besiem Yemiru, a graduate student in the Global Information Systems department. Professor Lopez is interested in making the world a better place and helps students do the same through their research. 


Professor deRuiter

Dr. Hans-Peter deRuiter is a faculty member and research scholar teaching at Minnesota State University, Mankato, in the College of Allied Health and Nursing. Professor deRuiter brings his global knowledge and unique perspective to improve the usage of various techniques in healthcare. Professor deRuiter also works with students to ensure that the approaches they use and learn can cooperate alongside the healthcare technology that is advancing every day. 


Professor Scott

Dr. Kristin Scott is a faculty member and active researcher who teaches in the Department of Marketing under the College of Business at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Professor Scott’s goal is to make the world a better place through sustainable marketing, and she encourages students to conduct research that is related to their specific interests as well. Dr. Scott has extensive experience in research and is impacting the College of Business with her knowledge and desire to teach and learn.


Professor sharlin

Dr. David Sharlin is a faculty member and MS Coordinator who teaches under the College of Science, Engineering and Technology in the Department of Biological Sciences. Professor Sharlin mentors students and gives them the opportunity to test their hypotheses. Professor Sharlin introduces us to the Sharlin Lab, where Graduate and Undergraduate students work together to make a positive impact on human health through their research.  Also featured in the video are two Graduate and two Undergraduate students who share their experiences working in the lab. The Sharlin Lab epitomizes the university’s mission statement of engaging in big ideas and real-world thinking.
