S M Ashfaqur Rahman is currently a graduate student in the M.A. in Sociology program at Minnesota State University, Mankato. He completed his first Masters (Thesis) in Sociology at the University of Chittagong. His research interests include social control, gerontology, disaster risk reduction, and the impact of technology on human behavior. Ashfaqur has worked with prestigious institutions such as the Johns Hopkins University Center for Communication Programs and BBC Media Action as a Research Assistant.
